Alric Lindsay is an independent director for Cayman Islands-based funds and is regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (“CIMA”) and licensed as a director under The Directors’ Registration and Licensing Law, 2014.

Alric is also a qualified investment funds attorney, having been initially admitted to the Cayman Islands Bar to practice law in February 2005. Alric currently practices investment funds law and is a sole practitioner registered on the rolls of the courts of the Cayman Islands.

Prior to being an independent fund director, Alric worked as an investment funds attorney with offshore magic circle law firms Maples and Calder and Ogier. As an attorney with those firms, he advised hedge funds and their boards of directors on a wide range of issues, including formation, restructuring and termination. His knowledge of hedge funds therefore covers all stages of a fund life cycle.

Alric has also worked as a senior compliance analyst with CIMA where he was responsible for anti-money laundering, compliance and regulatory queries from onshore regulators, administrators, investment managers and onshore lawyers as well as all aspects of Cayman Islands laws.

Alric previously qualified as a certified public accountant, having passed the Uniform Certified Public Accounting Exam in 1998 and was employed by Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in the Cayman Islands as an auditor. At Coopers & Lybrand, he was involved in audits of banks, insurance companies and other institutions. Alric also passed the Canadian Securities Course (hons) in 2005.

Alric has also completed IBM’s Blockchain Essentials and IBM Blockchain Foundation Developer courses focusing on IBM’s Hyperledger Fabric Blockchain technology and the IBM Hyperledger Project’s initiative to build an open-source distributed ledger, the technology’s improvements to supply-chains and other transaction-based business networks. Alric continues to build his cumulative knowledge of the Hyperledger Composer to model, build and run a business network.

Alric is a member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association, Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries (Canada). He is also an alumnus of Stetson University in Florida and the College of Law of England and Wales in London.
